Movie Review: The Haunting in Connecticut 2009

the-haunting-in-connecticut.jpgThis Movie was really good, and with it being based on a true story, that makes it even better.  A family moves into a house that used to be a Funeral Home and their son who is dying of cancer begins to sense something evil there.  He has dreams and visions and as the movie progresses you are given more clues until the end when the secrets of the house are revealed.  The surprises during the movie, make us all jump out of our seats.  A spatter of screams here and there, the special effects keep you rooted in suspense.  The character Matt is played by Kyle Gallner and he is a superb actor!  This kid has been in many productions (made for TV) and should have been on the movie screen long ago.  My sweetie assumed he was Twilight’s Robert Pattison.  I found a photo on Google and I can’t tell the difference between the two.   kyle-gallner.jpg    robert-pattinson.jpg They could almost be twins!  I wonder how many other people out there will think it’s the same guy?  As for Virginia Madsen, she played a very emotional Mother and I had to hold it together when she’s talking about Matt dying of cancer in the movie.  Overall, there is a wonderful cast, good acting, excellent plot and story line and the dialogue explains everything as the story moves along.  I think both the editing and writers of this screenplay deserve an award for a job well done!
