Movie Review: I Love You, Man
I gave this movie a rating of 10/10 for exceptional dialogue, plots, settings and superb acting! I will actually have to watch it again when it comes out on DVD. So many “guys” were laughing at this movie. The girls as well, it was refreshing to watch a “guy” flick. It gives you a good idea about what male bonding is all about. When Peter gets engaged and then has to find himself a “best-man” the fun begins. He is coached on how to go out on a “man date.”It was comical, sexually explicit and I couldn’t hear the lines half the time because of all the guys howling at what was said. I was laughing more at them, then the movie. Some of the punch lines didn’t tickle my funny bone but I still enjoyed going out on a date with my honey and watching a movie that he enjoyed for once. He hates going to “chick” flicks and usually I’ll go alone, to spare him the agony of it all. I really wish I had some “chicks” to go with to “chic flicks.” It would be fun to do some “female” bonding. I have always hung out with the guys and been a tomboy all of my life. I was kind of wishing I could be “one” of the guys.I love a movie that moves the emotions and the soul, better yet, when it makes you laugh and feel good then you know it’s a number 10! Paul Rudd and Jason Segel show just what it’s like to be two buddies joined at the hip. One is awkward with male bonding and the other is laid back and groovy. Rashida Jones, is the bride to be, who encourages her fiance to find a “man” friend and hang out with the boys. How many guys out there are wishing that their girlfriends or wives would have the same attitude as this girl? Everyone of them, I bet. The movie had a message, a friend can help you open up towards life and enjoy it even more. A friend can enrich your relationship (if they are positive towards it). A friend is a good sounding board for when times are tough and decisions need to be made, the third person perspective mixed with wisdom, makes it easier to deal with. Last of all, a friend is there when you need them and even after a fight, come through for you in the end. I loved this movie, and it has a wonderful message about friendship for both men and women. This movie is not for children under the age of 15, unless you don’t mind them hearing a lot of open sexual conversation.
