Idea Girl Happy Mothers Day - Do Something Special for Your Mom Today

I was working on my new Squidoo Site  at http://www.squidoo.com/ideagirlhappymothersday and found this wonderful You Tube Video called “Go Fish:The Mom Song.”  I had several versions to choose from and I picked this one because it is so cute and funny!  I hope this family makes even more videos because it was in sync with the pictures and so cool to watch.Mother’s Day is a great way to show your Mom that you love and care for her.  I also believe that Mom’s should have more than one day a year to be shown how special they are.   A Mother’s work is never done, she is on call 24/7, and that is more than a doctor.  Sometimes when your family is giving you a hard time (not doing their chores, keeping the house tidy or making a mess just after you spent the day cleaning) and not showing you the appreciation you deserve, set aside a family night or day.  Each parent should be made to feel special by their kids (this includes Dad as well).Make them breakfast in bed, fold that laundry, sweep the floors or do the gardening without being asked.  Every parent has to ask their child to clean their room.  Kids, you can’t expect Mom to always be looking through the pile of clothes on the floor and expect her to have ESP , knowing what is clean or dirty.  The same goes for husbands, who leave rolled up dirty socks in the living room, or a shirt hanging on a chair in the kitchen.  You have to set an example for your kids and help Mom out, or vice versa.  Every home is different, the key is to make it a happy home.If Mom is at home, or out at a job, she is working all day long.  She works hard to clean the house, cook the meals and take care of her family.  In other cases it’s the dad that plays the role of Mr. Mom.  The point is, make that person feel special.  Tell them that you care, thank them for all that they do for you and reward them on a monthly basis.  I’m glad we have a Mother’s Day, because some of you seem to forget about her the rest of the year, and it shouldn’t be that way.She may nag you to clean your room, or take care of your finances, or get on your case about your sibling.  She is still your Mother and she gave you life.  Remember, no matter what, to tell your Mom (or Dad) that you love them.  You never know when it will be the last time you get to say it to them.Make them feel wonderful and special today.  Go buy some flowers, take them out to dinner tonight or just spend some quality time alone with them.  Kids, go to bed earlier, read a book, clean your room, give Mom or Dad some time to themselves.  They will be refreshed, thankful and appreciative.  Then you can ask them for that special something you’ve always wanted.  They are more than likely to say yes.(I just had to add that for a chuckle!)
