Tell yourself, “I can do this.”
How many times have you stopped yourself from doing something? The fear of failure, people making fun of you, maybe your parents don’t agree on your career choices? You know what I am talking about. You have this great idea and you run it by a friend or a loved one. They say no, don’t bother, do something solid and safe. Go to college, get a degree and we want you to do this. Meanwhile, you go to school, get the degree and work at that job, wishing that you would have followed your dream instead. Years later, you decide to take the plunge and go do what you’ve always wanted to. Guess what! When you are passionate about something and persistent, you will be a success! It does not matter if the economy is suffering, you will just have to learn to go with your gut instincts. Maybe try a new field of expertise, find out where technology is heading, more than likely it will be creating new jobs on the market place once they have been defined. Can you imagine back in the early 1900’s if I had posted a job for a Rocket Scientist, our inventors would have been happy, the general public would have asked, “What’s a rocket?” and the rest of us would say, “Your crazy, why do you need a rocket scientist?” I would reply, “We are planning to go to the moon!” Some would call me crazy, others a heretic, but then a select few would believe in me. Because they would see a person who was persistent and wanted to do something out of the ordinary and with the right tools and technology, I would fly to the moon. Finally in the 1950’s man found out that they could fly to the moon and come back to tell about it. It was a moment in history. A moment when all those people who said it was crazy, stood there with their mouths dropped to the floor, red with embarrassment and feeling quite foolish, that we made it to the moon, like we said we would. So all you need to do to fly to the moon
is to tell yourself, “I can do this.” The moon might be starting your own business, going back to school or looking at new career options. I took the big step and became “Idea Girl Consulting”this week. A vision of mine since I was a child and I finally realized that before I die, I want to do all of my dreams. Thanks to the movie,”The Bucket List” and Queen Latifah’s, “Last Holiday” I have decided to live life to the fullest each and every day. I want you all to be inspired to do the same. Follow your dreams, make them a reality and you will feel so much better about your life and stop being depressed about the economy. If we all join together and work hard to create a new future for ourselves we will make our own trip to the moon and bring happiness to the world around us.
