One Man’s Junk is Another Woman’s Treasure.
The other day while sitting at my new desk, I realized my monitor is up about an extra foot higher then my eye level. So much for using my $10 chair I had bought at the Christian Benefit Shop. It’s a comfortable chair and great to sit on for an hour or two but with the monitor so high, my neck began to ache. After pricing chairs and finding the decent ones being at least $100 - $200 I decided a little prayer for an office chair was in order. It was a half-hearted, I hope you can, type of prayer. Not a down on my knees, serious pleading, God can I have this, kind of prayer. This was on Friday night that I said my little prayer. On Saturday morning, my boyfriend informed me that we would be spending the night at his brothers house because he was going to help him move some stuff. I thought they had moved in last weekend, I guess not.So I spent my afternoon, late evening and morning watching movies, visiting with his brothers girlfriend (by the way she makes amazing french toast and home fries for breakfast, lasagna for supper - totally spoiled) and we had a nice time together. When it was time to leave, as a thank-you, we were given an computer chair as a gift. They had been planning to get rid of it and my boyfriend mentioned that I needed one, so in exchange for his 8 hours of moving, I got a computer chair. Now I have to thank several people for this answered prayer. To the universe (and God) for hearing me, to my boyfriend for his hours of heavy lifting, to his brother for suggesting we help move them and to his brother’s girlfriend for giving me what she no longer needed. I also got a lovely dinner, three movies I had not seen and last of all breakfast. As they say, “the lord works in mysterious ways.” I felt rewarded in all this, but my boyfriend, well he’s exhausted and will need some tender loving care so a good back massage will be in order and a nice dinner out to the place of his choice.
