1891 Mansion

I updated My Novel site with several more chapters.  I have put part one of novel online for viewing.  It’s called “The Mansion on the Hill - The Trip to Canada : How it all began.”  There are several parts to the book that are currently being edited.  Then I plan to do a Query and find someone who wants to publish a Historical Romance book.  If you have any suggestions I would appreciate them!  This is my first Novel and it’s been fun.  I’m actually writing a series of books about my characters “The Lafleurs.”  In the first book I follow the three generations as they grow and develop as people learning about their sexuality, marriage and lifestyles.  I’ve incorporated true facts about the SS America which was actually built in 1940.  I’ve created a fictional story about my characters meeting aboard this vessel.

I liked the name SS America, because it reminds me about Samuel De Champlain and how he discovered North America.  It mentions the history of Canada in the late 17th century up to the 19th century.  The characters are set in the early 1900’s in Quebec, Canada.  They travelled over from London, England to start a new life.  While on the SS America, they meet and find that the families are connected to each other in several ways.  As the popular site “Facebook” based it’s theories on “Six Degrees of Separation.”  I have done the same.  In this Universe we are all connected in some way, shape or form and as the story follows the lives of the Fictional Characters they reveal secrets and mysteries about themselves and others.  In some cases, some of the characters find out about their sexual preferences as well.  I tried to write the book so that even a thirteen year old could understand it.  I know some parents might object to it having mild sexual content but in reality, I’m pretty sure that young people are sexually active in many cases as early as eleven years old.  I come from the baby boomer generation and I remember in grade school being shocked about girls getting pregnant while in grade seven!

The book is full of adventure, mystery, romance and even murders.  There is mention of witchcraft in some cases but not in great detail.  I used my imagination and hope that you will have fun reading this book.
