Sea Salt Take Me Away!
January is a pretty stressfull month with all those bills piling in and christmas debts. Make sure you take time out of your day to do some walking and clear your mind with some time in meditation. Even if you only sit there for 10 minutes with your zen cd playing and totally empty your mind and just give it some rest, you’ll be able to tackle the rest of the day. Usually around 3 or 4 pm, I find most people start running on empty. This is a good time to have a snack, a drink or tea and coffee and take those 10 minutes and just clear your thoughts . After a really busy, stressfull day it’s great to take a nice hot sea salt bath. Usually a hot bath will drain you of all energy, but sea salt tends to revive you and you can buy a box of it for 1$ at the dollarama. The box will last several baths. To measure the salt just pour two handfulls in. Let it disolve first and swish it around the whole tub then immerse yourself in the water for a minimum of 10 minutes. I don’t know about you , but my bathroom is freezing in the winter, so I keep my bath’s short and sweet. I make sure i have two towels and a housecoat and slippers for when I get out of the tub. Then for 5 minutes i’ll lather on my Yves Roche, Spa dry skin moisturizer. I love the feel of baby soft skin and I feel revived and refreshed. I’ll do this before supper time! That way I still have energy to cook a meal, clean up my mess, do a bit of housework and then sit down around 9pm to watch a movie or tv show and just veg for awhile.
Any worries can wait till tomorrow. If your under alot of financial stress, instead of worrying about it all day (it’s a fact that 90% of the things we worry about never happen!), pick a time during the day and call this your “worry” time. It can be from 15 minutes to 30 minutes. Write down what is worrying you. Then write down the possible solutions that can solve the issue, even if you cannot reach that goal in a short period of time, write it down. First you will identify what is bothering you. Second you’ll give yourself some hope that yes this problem can be solved. Third you will have a rough idea of how long it may take to solve the issue. Last of all, don’t worry about it until tomorrow! Break your week into segments. For me, monday to friday are work days. Saturday is my fun day and I do whatever I want and sunday is my laundry and house clean day for 4 hours and no longer. Keep half the day for shopping and errands.
I would only have one or two sea salt baths a week. Hot water tends to make your skin dry and itchy!
