Santa Claus is coming to town!
Today would be a great day to go christmas shopping. I know most of you are already there. I heard that Santa is planning to magically appear thanks to Greg Frewin as of 11 a.m. today at the Pen Center in St Catharines, Ontario. I noticed when I pulled up their website that they now offer ballots, contests and prizes at the shopping centers. In all my years, I don’t remember such an awesome marketing plan! I guess with the economy in a down swing and all this financial market being tipsy turvy people are living in fear of what may happen tomorrow.
I have good news! Now if your into history at all, back in the early 1900s North America was faced with exactly the same problems as we have today. New technologies and experiments were developed and the Industrial world was revitalized! Of course from 1929 to 1937 was the greatest depression known to man. Where people couldn’t find work or money if their life depended on it. It was rough times financially, but people learned how to spend more time with their family and learned how to entertain themselves in different ways.
Were you aware that during these times, the use of our local libraries sky rocketed? After all free reading material, newspapers, magazines and music to rent and movies galore! You will find everything you need there except the kitchen sink! However there are lots of books on do it yourself projects and cooking. Now we may have not much money but how about some origami? Why not develop new talents or hobby’s? Now is the time to start training for a different line of work. Educate yourself there’s lots of free courses to be taken at the Adult Training Centers.
After being in a car accident, I’ve left the call center industry of which I had been a successful part of for over ten years. I’m now refocusing on different things. I’ve learned some meditation techniques, holistic health, massage and found that I love to write!
So i’ve been working on a novel, some short stories and little articles here and there about what to do when… This is my way of entertaining myself and making other people’s life more enjoyable!
When you write a good short story and it makes people chuckle then you’ve enriched their lives and made their day brighter. So what if it’s not perfect? Nothing ever is. I’ve even done Art Therapy. Now that’s fun!
So my idea for life today is, have fun christmas shopping. Enjoy the free events with the family and don’t worry about the economy or your jobs. You will survive just as our ancestors did. You can change your circumstances and redevelop new skills. It’s time to take the reins of life and control your destiny.
Take time today to be thankful for your loved ones and family. Take time out for yourself. And put a smile on that face of yours!
